Tenecor Standard Acrylic Aquarium Buyers Guide: - Simplicity Plus Aquarium
Simplicity Plus Aquarium
Simplicity Plus is an aquarium with an "in tank", internal filtration system (IFS) that incorporates physical, chemical and biological filtration of the aquarium water. It was developed in the early 1980's by Tenecor and is widely used today in small and large aquariums.
It is easy to maintain and is ideal for freshwater or saltwater fish tanks; it is not intended for use in a reef aquarium.
The basic configuration of the Simplicity Plus is shown in this schematic which is drawn as if one were looking through the back of the tank.
Water is "skimmed" or drained into the filter through filter slots at the
top of the filter wall. It is then drawn through physical, chemical and
biological filtration chambers before being pumped back into the tank. The
filter chamber is not viewable from the front as all components are behind a
dark blue or black wall.
The size of the filter chamber and number of pumps is sized according to the
gallons of the aquarium to provide adequate filtration capacity and water
turnover.
